DeepMeadows Farm recommends weaning between 4 and 6 months of age depending upon the individual needs of the mare and foal involved. DeepMeadows Farm offers stalls and paddocks which are safe for handling this process. Foals are placed with other weanlings in accommodating paddocks. The weanlings are handled at least twice per day.

DeepMeadows Farm recommends 30-60 days of separation from the mare, depending on the home farm set up if they do not continue to board with us.

Continued boarding of your young yearling is offered in dedicated stalls and turn out pastures. DeepMeadows Farm provides lots of green grass, plenty of room to run and daily handling. A feeding program especially designed to reduce the incidence of OCD in young horses, and of course our large green pastures and mild climate enable youngsters to graze and play and grow.

We provide outstanding sales preparation for weanlings, yearlings and breeding stock. Please visit our Sale Representation page or contact us for more information.
